In the spirit of Mrs. Blandings' recent posts on Enduring Style featuring Mugatu and other esteemed decora-tors and -trixes (seriously good stuff; check 'em out), I want to keep giving credit where credit is due and list my current inspirations/obsessions:
1. Miles has a project in the current (July) issue of House Beautiful and it is CRAZY CHIC!! Go get the mag but in the words of another favorite client of ours: wear a Depend girl 'cause you're gonna wet your pants! Sadly I don't think it's kosher to scan and post pics while still on the stands. Trust me though. Hats off to the owners, too -- the nicest, chicest guys with the most ruthlessly edited closets and saliva-generating collection of art and fashion books. You will die.
2. Who killed society? It wasn't Diogo Mayo, author of Scala Regia and perhaps the most gifted Google Image-searcher in the universe. Glamour lives on this blog if nowhere else ... just take a look at the list of tags at right. I was weeping by the time I got to "Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza", "Tita" to friends and freaks like me who used to obsess over Vanity Fair articles and the Suzy column. But Diogo also digs models, muses like Daphne Guinness, and Very Stylish Boys like Pharrell Williams and the Duke of Feria! Oh and the SOUNDTRACK!! What's not to love?
3. Finally, Gawker's Richard Lawson. According to a recent commenter, "If F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote TV show recaps, he'd probably write one like this. Bravo." Couldn't agree more. Somebody give this boy a book deal or an HBO show to write!!!
