Kicking myself for not buying it, but 80 bucks? I probably had to pay Verizon that week. But the V-Man's uneven script is still burned into my psyche, so what about something similarly encephalitic/romantic paired with a classic secondary font à la Harper's Bazaar ?

"Narziss" by Hubert Jocham. Chic, right? Hmm ... wonder how I came up with this brilliant new pairing ... looks sort of familiar ... OH, WAIT:

Fabien Baron's re-design for Interview. Naturally he also dreamed up Linda's iconic Bazaar moment back in the dizzay. Just when you thought all the good ideas were taken, they are! Literally going back to the drawing board ...

Please go get that now. It is amazing.
ReplyDeletelove your wit and writing style as much as your content. good luck. . .
ReplyDeletelove the Harper's bazaar logo. go for it!
ReplyDeleteIt's true. Zac Efron IS the future. Draw your logo and scan it. Enjoy. We await patiently for the process to continue.
ReplyDeleteI think I am enjoying the process as much as I will the end product.

ReplyDeleteNick, to help you procrastinate: http://www.pentagram.com/what-type-are-you/
ReplyDeleteI'm "Marina Script", which is eerie because that's the font I used on my business website, back when I had one.
Perhaps a photo of you, a la Evangelista, propping up an errant L or so?
ReplyDeleteI agree with redbrickbuilding--take that "what type are you" quiz. I am Architype van Doesburg.
ReplyDeleteYou'll being interrogated for purposes unknown by a faceless German who jots your answers in a ratty notebook and keeps telling you to hurry up!
My vote is for you to keep it classic and simple.
If you can't invent something new I say just insert yourself into the old. I think you could look at LEAST as good as Zachy Boy covered in dirt bringing the sexy. Just recreate the whole cover with your mug. That might realllyyyy confuse new readers, but I would certainly enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteredbrickbuilding lucitebox, I made it to the end of eBay and took your procrastination advice. Pentagram's Dr. Freud told me I'm "Archer Hairline" and the explanation was creepily accurate! It's a pretty font but I do love jason's homage to linda idea ...
ReplyDeletetoo conservative! You need that "interview" font! LOVE THAT
ReplyDelete80 bucks. That's a little pricy.
