Doesn't it look like Bunny Mellon's after an occupation by these ladies?

It was cold and overcast today, so after a trip to the Brooklyn flea (where I resisted purchasing a Brutalist mirror depicting all twelve signs of the zodiac) I drifted all the way down State Street and waited for a tenant with a grey pony tail and a hot red hoodie to finish taking out her trash before I snapped this shot.
I don't know if the teal shutters and Crayola blue door were an intended mismatch, but I love. LOVE.

I love that townhouse! I'd love to live in a place with shutters on the windows.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you are paying attention instead of texting. Love.
ReplyDeletewonderful...
ReplyDeleteLove this, and the Brooklyn flea, that bank building is just too beautiful, although the crowdedness kind of gave me spasms
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the Virgin Mary watching you from the townhouse window to the left, second floor?
ReplyDeleteI kind of wish the tenant was in the pic... always curious to see who lives in the buildings I love! Especially if the tenant and building look alike, like people do with their dogs sometimes.
ReplyDeleteJust re-watched Breakfast at Tiffany's and remembered how gorgeous that building is... I posted it here:

I can smell the old tobacco from here
ReplyDeletelovely old dowager buildings like this just exude a quiet spirit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but then "any little rat-- Any little rat's nest in New York, any little mouse hole, any little rat hole, even on Tenth Avenue" I would take.
ReplyDeleteAwesome that Jason can quote Little Edie so perfectly on point. (According to this month's Vanity Fair, Little Edie lived in the Barbizon for five years before being summoned back to GG.)
ReplyDeleteyou've got an eye for hidden beauty. i wish for that talent.
ReplyDeleteI feel more lazy on Saturdays? I guess everyone has one lazy day.
