Today's the day I reveal this little two-year labor of love: Check out my apartment in the April issue of Lonny! HUGE thanks to Michelle, Patrick, Ellie and Shawn for making dreams come true (and for forcing me to finally get off my bum and finish a million projects). I'm pleased as punch!!!
(Now playing)

was just wondering the other day about the chair re-do you posted about weeks ago using 'rotten stone' then...bam, saw it in lonny. would you please tell us about the bottom table in the third photo...did you cover it with maps and other ephemera? love that look. please forgive if it is explained in lonny's text. i am totally a pictures gal and am often guilty of not reading everything. thanks and congrats.
ReplyDeleteYour apartment is a revelation - thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHey Nick. I love the orange wardrobe in your bedroom...I might have to steal it when you are not looking! Congrats on the feature in Lonny Mag, too.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check it out now :)
Congrats
Just found your blog and am your newest follower.
I'll be back!!
Yuuummmmy! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteNick, Daring, bold, and chic are the words. Wow! is the reaction! It takes a progressive creative mind to do what you have done. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteso fabulous! Love that painting! and the color scheme itself.

Love those glossy walls!
ReplyDeleteUnique, bold, masculine and very engaging space! Congratulations on your feature-keep producing more eye candy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Nick, I was so happy to see your place in Lonny last night ! I love that you did everything yourself.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see your new apartment in Lonny. I love the stripes and Damien Hirst-like painting in your bedroom. The lacquered red sitting room is also amazing! This is definitely an article of images I will be admiring for some time just like your Domino-featured last apartment. Super Job!
ReplyDeleteYou should be pleased as punch-your place looks divine. So much style, in every detail from your DIY Damien Hirst to those awning stripe green fabric walls and all that red lacquer. Nobody does it like Nick does it, cheers to you for being awe-some.
ReplyDeleteI heart this...and your YouTube stylings.
ReplyDeleteThank you, one and all!!! A Perfect Gray, I unearthed that treasure at Blue Moon Antique Mall in Pensacola, FL. It is indeed a plastic Parsons telephone table decoupaged in map print -- a very easy DIY project but one of the few I didn't attempt myself!!
ReplyDeleteHere come the 80s! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou go, Boy! Your place looks SO fun, although I wish you hadn't shown how those Hirst dots can be recreated because when the husb to be saw that he was all, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY DO THAT IN OUR HALLWAY. He is obsessed with the Hirst dots and somehow thinks I have your skills and could recreate on large large scales. Cannot let him know am not as talented. Dangit Nick!!
ReplyDeleteBut for serious, lookin' good sonny!
Loves it!!!! It was totally worth the wait! Cannot wait to pick up my copy for you to sign for me! xoxo Somf
ReplyDeleteNick, this Living room space is electric-in all the best ways-the colour combination is inspired and fresh-and new looking. Just the right touch of the best classical design elements and what is au courant. A hard achievement, but well done here- I will peruse Lonny! and I do hope they have tossed around a Billy Baldwin or two in their storyline. If not I will have to do it. Superb. pgt
ReplyDeleteNick!!!! what an inspiration! IM FLOORED! SO MUCH SO SO MUCH
ReplyDeleteSupah sexxxy!
ReplyDeleteCurious about where you started with this one... the couch? The painting? Neither?
Inquiring minds need to know.
congratulations ... your place is wonderful xx
ReplyDeleteSo fun and artful. I do love your painting above the couch. Fabric on the bedroom walls: YES. Did you staple-gun top and bottom of each panel? Do you turn it under so the staples don't show? I'm curious. I'm hanging some fabric soon, but I'll probably use curtain rings for that "tapestry-like (and lazy) look. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Congratulatoins!!!!!! That paint job on the walls - unreal gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI like.
This looks like my grandmother's dream apartment. And I mean that in the best possible way...my grandmother is awesome.
ReplyDeletelooks amazing.. I came across your blog by linking to it from the Lonny mag. Very impressed with your work.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! But you will still have the infestation of mice and roaches that come along with a shabby Nolita apt like that... good luck
ReplyDeleteCongrats. Loved your granny-on-dope spread.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bold and refreshing change from the expected turquoise or gray walls/dark floors/seagrass rugs and white upholstery that the herd is doing! It's nice to see such a strong point of view!
ReplyDeleteWOW! It's fabulous!! Love all the colors!
ReplyDeletedid you have assistance with all the painting?
ReplyDeleteYikes! Well - You are a fearless decorator for sure! Congrats on the spread in Lonny.
ReplyDeleteThe painting there brings the unique home to live. Love the red and blue in it.
