Lemon yellow International Harvester Scout.

Battleship gray Volkswagen Type 181, known colloquially as "the Thing" (cough, cough).

90s teal Saab 900 Cabriolet. Boxy is back.
(Can you tell I miss driving? Meanwhile those losers at the MTA want to cap 'unlimited' Metrocards at 90 rides per month. No fair!!)

ReplyDeleteMoesha totally drove a 181 in gray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiNFYUJoQFc&feature=related [see 0:14, roughly]. You know, before she KILLED A WOMAN: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b54248_Brandy_Sets_Off_Fatal_Car_Crash.html
LOVE Scouts...My family owned 4 in a row until they quit making them...
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who collects Internationals and has about a dozen. One for every occasion, regardless of what it is!
ReplyDeleteLove the saab -- boxy is the way to go, I wish those styles would come back. I've always loved the boxy-shape of the old mini-coopers!
ReplyDeleteI love Keehnan.
ReplyDeleteMy mom bought an orange "thing" new in 73. It's for sale if you're interested!
ReplyDeleteAll these autos are winners for me. But the one that takes the cake is the Volks 181! This one is definitely ready to battle the streets. I bet it still competes well with modern autos today. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have an eye for fine vehicles, Nettie! Yes, that Volks 181 looks WICKED! It looks like a modified tank. The steel/industrial build of the vehicle makes it more appealing to me. It can give other cars a run for their money with its unique style and road performance.
ReplyDeleteAll really nice rides. I love the yellow car or is it a trunk? The best though.

Whoah! Would you look at these beautiful road machines! These vehicles are certainly to die for! Each vehicle is beautiful in its own right, especially that Volk 181. It looks like it is ready to battle or to invade!
