This week we'll combine three of my passions: chairs, Janet, and militaria:
The whole shebang:
My sister and I used to stand in front of MTV to practice every last snap and clap. Honestly, Gaga should fire that Harpy Ann Gibson and dig Tina Landon out of obscurity. Zees is real choreography!!

I love you. you had me at harpy ann gibson.
ReplyDeletefull disclosure: I spent an entire friday night on youtube learning Bad Romance and grew up pausing Janet DVDs to learn the dances. JUST in case the song comes on in the club and a flash mob dance breaks out, I will be prepared.
lady gaga is nothing, Janet is everything. I'd say the modern Janet is Ciara though...my friends and I once spent an evening practicing her dance moves from the promise music video. that wasn't cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this thing where you have to say "Lady Gaga is no good! Now this Julie Andrews gal is terrific! [etc.]" You can like Lady Gaga and still like other singers, even other lady singers. It's possible. I promise.
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning there was DDR. Video game "dancing" consisted of mashing your feet to certain patterns. It was fun, it was a great workout, but at the end of the day it wasn't really dancing.
ReplyDeleteThen along came Just Dance, which introduced the world to dancing to popular music using "real dance move", the kind that you could practice at home and then wow everyone with on the dance floor. It was slightly annoying that the controller accuracy was a bit off, but the dance moves were so fun we didn't care.
